the animals most often 
featured in T'ang three-
color ware, since it was
the fashion to provide
pottery horses as funerary
ware. The universal 
fondness for the horse in
the T'ang period means that
art works on  equine  themes
were associated with everyone
from  court  nobility  to the
ordinary masses.
